NEW ----On Oct. 28, County senior managers signed the Natural Community Conservation Planning Agreement, which establishes parameters for the North and East County Plans.  The agreement has been signed by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and sent to the California Department of Fish & Game for final signature.  The North and East County Plans will complement the South County Plan, adopted in 1997.

The MSCP:

The MSCP is important because it:

  • Conserves San Diego's natural areas and quality of life.
  • Protects San Diego's diversity of native plants and animals, including threatened and endangered species.
  • Accommodates future growth by streamlining building regulations.
